Cheap Air Purifiers

4 Years and still working GREAT!
I bought my first XJ-3000 Surround air purifier in 2005. It's been in the bedroom ever since. The air always smells fresh and clean not musty. I bought two others for my boys. One was too loud. Sent it back and was replaced right away. Excellent service. That one review where the woman thought they weren't working...she forgot to remove the wrapping from the filter. I did that when I got a replacement filter. These work EXCELLENT! The ionization makes the air so fresh. I have run the one I bought in 2005 twenty four (24) hours a day seven (7) days a week and it still performs like it did when I bought it. Only issue is I replace the main filter every two years...here's a hint...take it out and vacuum it every three months or so. It will last a lot longer.

This Surround Air Purifier, DOES NOT work
I first purchased one of the XJ-3000D SURROUND AIR purifiers. It looked impressive but does not do the job. I liked the looks of it and it appears like it would clean the air and after a couple weeks I bought another unit, exact same model. Well I use them for 10 to 14 hrs a day every day. I am thinking as time goes by, "Hey, this is great I never have to change the filter" In the meantime I am changing my whole house air filter every month, and let me tell you with 2 big dogs and 2 cats, my A/C-furnace Merv 8 filters are filthy. BUT why are these filters so filthy and needing monthly replacement when I never even changed my Surround Air filters once in over a year? Either on of them? Then I looked at the Surround Air Hepa Filter, took it out and it was CLEAN, "I mean new looking clean". How can this be? Everyone that owns one go to your machine, your surround air purifiers and look at your back of the HEPA filter, IT will be white and clean and those that say not probably work for Surround Air. It had a very minute bit of dust around the outside of the filter where air leaked around the perimeter, but the back was like brand new. So I took a piece of newspaper, about 3 inches by 4 inches, just one sheet and placed it on the intake, and it could not even hold this little piece of newspaper up. I did this on BOTH units. So how can this air cleaner clean the air? If air can't go through the 3 3/4 inch Hepa filter because the fan's draw is not strong enough to pull the air through the Hepa filter, where it is suppose to trap pollutants and particles thus emitting clean FILTERED air and coming out through the exhaust cleansed. It is not happening! If your air was being laundered your filter would be filthy and needing to be changed or in the least vacuumed. As an owner of one of these, I say, "Don't waste your time, money, and the electricity it costs to run this for this Air Purifier or buy its expensive replacement filters". Look for INDEPENDENT TESTING BEFORE YOU BUY AN AIR PURIFIER. This is just another ripoff on consumers.

Great at removing cigarette smoke and tobacco odor
This is the best purchase I have made in many years. I can't say enough about how good it works at removing smoke and tobacco odors in a fairly good size room. I've bought other so-called air cleaners and wound up putting them out for the trash. Not to mention the money I save on expensive room deodorant sprays (which never really work anyway as they only mask the smell for an hour or so). It feels good to come home and not smell cigarette smoke as soon as you walk in the door. Do not hesitate to buy it. It's worth every cent and more.

Good product
The unit is well built, good quality. Works silently.
The fans have good speed and move the air. It's a good looking machine.
I have it on 24/H full speed, and has been working properly for 2 months.
Could do better at removing odors and smoke.
Would I buy a second one if needed? maybe.
Happy I bought it? Yes.

Great purifier. Has all the features I wanted at a reasonable price.
My daughter used to wake up with a runny nose every morning, even with our central air conditioning on. Since using this purifier that has not occurred for over 2 weeks.

This unit has the same coverage as the S3000, but is smaller and quieter.
