The on/off switch permits either normal speed or QuickClean speed for fast results. An indicator light shows the unit is operating, and a month-to-month dial serves as a filter-change reminder. The unit comes with an all-purpose carbon filter. Replacement filters are available separately, as are specialty filters for pets, tobacco, and diapers. The expected one-month filter life is with the unit running continuously; if it's turned on only occasionally, the filter should last for up to four months. The top snaps open for easy filter replacement. The unit plugs into a wall socket and works best within 6 feet of an odor source.
